ACUmates comes to Melbourne and North Sydney

ACUmates is a social program run by the Office of Student Success, in partnership with the International Education Office and the Melbourne (MCSA) and North Sydney (MAKSA) Student Associations.

ACUmates core objective is to assist in the integration of international and local students through a variety of fun and inclusive social events and activities. ACUmates is open to all local and international students on Melbourne and North Sydney Campuses. James Wood, Campus Life Officer and coordinator of the Melbourne program believes ACUmates is "a great way for international students to meet local students, as well as meet students from other countries and year levels."

"It is really great to have the support of the International Education Office along with the Student Association in this project" Joshua Ang, coordinator of the North Sydney program said.

Along with coordinators on both campuses, the program also has a committed group of leaders to facilitate discussions and interaction between students and to help with the promotion and organisation of events throughout the year.

Both Campuses have the inaugural welcome event scheduled this fortnight with North Sydney's  event held on Friday 19 March and Melbourne the following week on Friday 26 March.

Throughout the year a number of social activities will be organised including city tours, trips to the Zoo, day trips, and evenings at NRL and AFL matches. If you would like to take part in the ACUmates program as either a student or as a leader, please contact:
